Inspirations:

As mentioned before, I have been looking at of Carlo CarrÃi’s manifesto, The Painting of Sounds, Noises and Smells (1913).

Here are some other artists/works that I have gained insights from: (If you have any suggestions on any others, let me know)

1) Norman McLaren’s Begone Dull Care

- I like how the film syncs with the jazz music, it’s like I can SEE the music.

- I like to think that if the sound was taken away I could still HEAR the music.

- I also like the dancing abstract shapes and lines (hehe)

2) John Cage

- innovative music notation

3) Wassily Kandinsky

- Created Paintings evoke sound

- Actually named his paintings like you would musical pieces (example: Improvisations)

- click on link to see his works: Kadinskey
