Minimalism

The music:

- Compose a composition which imitates music which is considered to be minimalist in nature. That is, I will place an emphasis on consonant harmony, and consider repetition, steady pulse, and gradual variation when writing this piece

- Instrument: GarageBand instruments

The visuals:

- Develop a unique notation which will represent the musical characteristics mentioned above. The outcome can be a stand alone visual art piece

- Instrument, industrial cermaic tile, black acrylic paint, paintbrush

The video:

- Will simply capture me “drawing the song,” that is each pen marking will be simultaneously made with the sounds of the composition (for example, each dot is corresponded with a note being played on the piano.)

Purpose:

- To draw attention to the relationship of minimalist ideas in both visual and musical art.
